Welcome! I'm so glad to have you here! We're a very new group (only been up a few weeks), it's very exciting to have new member to share encouragment and recipes with.
I hope you'll look around, post recipes if you have them and try some we've already posted. If you're on Weight Watchers, or any other diet plan, and would like to share your progress, stop by the "How Did You Do?" Forum and let us know. It really helps just knowing that you aren't in this alone!
So far I've lost 22 pounds. I weigh in on Wednesdays, so we'll see how I do next week.
If you need anything, just private message me by clicking on my highlighted name. If you have a recipe that you want to find out the WW points for, you can pm me and send it to me, I can run it through the recipe builder on the WW website and find out the points values for you.
Please check back often, I try to post several new recipes each day...and other members do too! There's always something new and delicious here!
Have a great New Year and we'll see less of eachother (hopefully ...weigh wise...in 2006)
Blessings...Colette

I'm Kim from michigans upper peninsula. I just finished week 17 and have lost 55.8 lbs so far -I still have a long way to go. I started out at 386 (YIKES!) Still, I can now bend over and tie my shoes and climb the stairs at home without being out of breath. next week my youngest goes back to college so I plan to walk with her everyday after class.
My husband and I are planning a trip to yellowstone in June and I really want to be another 75 lbs lighter when we go.
Oh my goodness Kim...you're doing so great! You are all inspirations to me...I have 174 lbs to lose total (have lost -22 lbs and weigh in tomorrow). I know what a long road you have ahead of you...but you aren't alone sister..I'm right there with ya!
Keep up the great work and we are so glad to have you here! Maybe some of these recipes will help ease your journey a bit (I know they help keep me on track)! It's great that you're walking, that's what I need to do. Baby steps...ya know?
I hope to see you up here often, keep us up to date please and just join in. The more folks we have supporting eachother, the harder it will be to fall!
Blessings...Colette

Welcome to all the newbies!!!! We are glad to have you here. Our Coe is doing a great job with this site.
I am so proud of you all! You are doing a great job.
I think I posted about myself before....but can't remember (I'm a blonde! ), so I'll do it here...at least on my weight loss.
I am on week 16 and as of last week I had lost 18.4 total. Hubby is doing it with me and has lost 38.5 as of last week.
I weigh in on Tuesday evening and I am a little worried about this week 'cause I am on steriods for 5 days for bronchial inflamation and I know they can make you retain water. I did weigh at the house last night and by my scale I have lost more? Maybe it has the opposite effect on me?
Thanks for joining here and letting us all help one another!!!!

I am also a newbie. I was seriously considering WLS, I have lost almost 150 lbs over the past 2 yrs and kept it off. I workout 5-6x a week 3 days with a personal trainer and the other 3 on my own. My husband has been my biggest support person, we workout together. I am also a type 2 diabetic and used to drink those full fledged blended coffee drinks. ( you know the ones with all the good stuff in them, and full of fat and sugar) I now drink Lo-carb sugar free blended coffee drinks, that I make on my own at home. Looking to meet friends on here.
Welcome Redhead! So glad that you found us...and congratulations on losing so much weight! That's amazine...and an inspiration to me! Wow...your a testament to exercise!
I hope that you enjoy your time here...and I hope you'll share your experience with us...we can always use advice from someone whose been ther before us!
Welcome and make yourself right at home! If you have any questions just let me know. If I don't know the answer...someone else is bound to. I look forward to getting to know you better.
Blessings...Colette

Hi, I'm a "newbie". I found my way here through BigBig Savings. I was on WW in 2002 and lost 37 lbs. I have gained some of it back and never reached my goal. I had to quit going because of money issues and had to resort to doing it on my own. It obviously didn't work. I'm so glad I stumbled on this site. It'll be like going to a meeting and never leaving the house. Thank you so much for creating it!
About me: I live in Houston, Tx & I've been married to my soul mate for 12 years now. I have a son (not his) that will be 15 in Sept. He's starting high school this year...aaaahhh. We also have 2 furr babies, Smokey & Spencer. My hobbies include scrapbooking, going to the movies, going to Astros games and shopping (is that a hobby?).
My current weight is 185, goal weight is realistically 150 so 35 lbs to lose. I think if I set realistic goals I'll be more likely to stick with it. Once I hit the goal, I'll shoot for my ideal weight of 125-130. I try to be active during the day but lack motivation in that area. I even made an exercise chart, I just need to use it.
I'm looking forward to chatting with all of you and wish you all the best of luck.
Welcome Texgirl! Hey...you're not the only Texan here...our friend Cassi lives in , Texas. My husband was born in San Antonio and his grandfather was from El Paso!
I love Texas! My family used to vacation on S. Padre Island, many, many years ago when I was a teen. I miss it. We're hoping to take our son there sometime.
I'm so glad that you found us! You can and will reach your goal...we're here to cheer you on! I admire folks who can do it at home...and I know that you'll find some great resources here that will help you.
Please just jump on in! We don't stand on ceremony here...just friends helping eachother, supporting eachother...and of course...finding great recipes. One thing we ALL have in common...we love food! LOL!
If you have any questions just private message me by clicking on my highlighted name, anywhere on the site. Hope to see you posting often!
Blessings...Colette

I used to be on BBS...years ago! Matter of fact that's where Coe and I met! I must say that was one of the highlights of my time over there!!!!
We love to visit Ft. Worth! It's been several years now, but we've been there a couple of times and enjoyed it. My DH was in TX for basic and tech school while in the AF.
This is a great place for recipes, advice, and especially support!!! I'm so glad Coe started it!
As far as recipes go...try looking over the reviews to find some of the tested recipes. It helps!
I am really looking forward to your posts!
