1 package (8 ounces) chopped dates, (about 1 1/3 cups) 3/4 cup water 2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 cup (1 stick) Fleischmann's® Original-stick, softened 1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar 1/4 cup (2 ounces) Egg Beaters® Egg Whites
Directions
1. Place dates and water in medium saucepan; bring to boil over medium-high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low; simmer 3 to 5 minutes, or until smooth, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; set aside to cool. 2. Combine flour, baking soda and cinnamon in medium bowl; set aside. Beat Fleischmann's and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add Egg Beaters; beat until well blended. Add flour mixture; mix well. 3. Place dough on large sheet of lightly floured waxed paper. Roll out to 13x10-inch rectangle; spread evenly with date mixture. Starting at one of the long sides of dough, roll up dough to form log, pulling dough away from waxed paper while rolling up. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. 4. Preheat oven to 375°F. Cut dough crosswise into about 1/4-inch thick slices. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheets. 5. Bake 8 minutes, or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks; cool completely.
