• 1 clove garlic, halved • 1 1/2 pounds fresh asparagus spears • Olive oil cooking spray • 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme • Salt and pepper to taste • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese for garnish (optional)
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Rub the cut sides of the garlic over a 13 x 9 inch baking dish, place garlic in dish.
Snap off the tough ends of each asparagus spear. Add asparagus to dish, spray lightly with olive oil (miser or spay) Sprinkle asparagus with thyme and salt and fresh ground pepper to taste. Toss gently and bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes*, stirring once.
* If you like your asparagus crispy, cook only at 15 minutes. If you like it more tender cook for the longer time.
