The roast has been sitting in brine overnight in the fridge, 3/4 cup molasses, 1 cup pickling salt and 2 quarts water, and before the kids got up for school, took it out and did my homemade rub, and it's now sitting in the smokers at the Bishop's house. SLOW and very low. IT's a 14 pound butt, and for the use of his smoker, I have to give him half of it. Just fine by me. Its being smoked with apple, cherry, and hickory woods.
Potatoes are baby reds and russets scrubbed and quartered, tossed with 2T olive oil and then sprinkled with dry ranch dressing mix and baked at 350* for 20 minutes or until tender.

*Ok Annalee....you are making my mouth water!!!! Gonna have to go for a snack...but it will pale in comparison to your smoked pork!!!! I did exercise this morning. I did the Ab part of the Denise Austin DVD Metabolism Boosting workout. It was 10 min which I did while dh was in the shower. I will probably try and do something else later today, but we have our quarterly inspection today, so I have to stay until that is done, so we will see. Have a blessed day!!!!!
