Kenny's Menu 1/18 - 1/20/07

Kenny wants to start this with us now that he's seen us actually sticking with it this time! So if ya'll don't mind, I'm going to post his menus here for a while so I can keep track easier. And I would appreciate any feedback for him, especially helpful hints since David's lost sooooo much weight!

I really had to talk him into breakfast this morning, but he was willing. He's just a little worried that he'll have a blood sugar problem before lunch time. I told him that he was eating a high fiber, lower carb cereal and high fiber toast, he should be fine. Also sent a Yoplait Smoothie with him just in case.

If I figured correctly, his points target is 31 per day.

Breakfast
3/4 cup Special K Protein Plus Cereal 1 pt
1 cup milk  2 pts
2 slices Healthy Life wheat bread, toasted  1 pt
"I can't believe it's not butter" spray 0 pts

Dinner
2  8" flour tortillas 5 pts
8 oz grilled chicken 4 pts
2 tsp olive oil 2 pts
1 cup veggies (green peppers, red peppers, red onions & tomatoes) 0 pts
4 T. Lite Sour Cream 2 pt
4 c. FF Milk 4 pts

Points = 17

Snacks
8 oz Yoplait Smoothie 1 pt
1 pc Harry & David's chocolate 3 pts.

Total points for the day: 44

Some of the things can be harder for guys.  But once David stuck with the program (he is incredible with will power--he hit it hard), he lost 9.5 his first week!  The first couple of weeks was hard until we "learned the ropes". 

He eats oatmeal pretty much EVERY morning.  He normally eats 2 packs of the Kashi Honey and Cinnamon Crunch with a couple of packets of artifical sweetner.  That's only 4 pts...but it has 10 g fiber (I believe...it may be more).  He'll normally have a light snack (normally popcorn = 1 pt) around 10am.

He eats A LOT of Subway, but sticks to the lower fat subs (normally the club and the oven roasted chicken) with no cheese and lots of veggies.  He normally uses the sweet onion teriaki (sp?) sauce or sometimes mustard.

Hope some of his stuff helps Kenny.
